Pursuit of man charged with felonious assault ends near Ada 

On Wednesday, September 20, officers from the Kenton Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2017 tan Ford SUV, which officers believed was being operated by thirty-five-year-old Wayne A. Tolson, of Kenton. Officers had been searching for Tolson for several days after a warrant was issued by Hardin County Common Pleas Court for violating the terms of his bond. The original charge originated from an F2 felonious assault, domestic violence case, from May of this year, in Kenton.

Once officers attempted to stop the vehicle as it fled westbound onto W. Columbus Street and then westbound onto State Route 309. The pursuit continued westbound on 309 toward Ada.

Ada High School celebrates Homecoming 2023

On Friday, the Homecoming Parade and Chili Cookoff tasting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the Homecoming football game vs. Bluffton begins at 7:00 p.m.

Homecoming season increases law enforcement presence on roads

Homecoming season is a cherished tradition bringing together high school students, families and alumni to celebrate school spirit and unity. The Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition reminds citizens that while these festivities are eagerly anticipated, they also come with concerns about driving safety, particularly in the context of post-game and dance celebrations and gatherings, much of it being done by youthful drivers.

Bulldogs host unbeaten Pirates in week 6

It doesn’t get any easier for Ada High School football as they entertain a second consecutive speedy, unbeaten league foe in week six.

Traditional rival Bluffton visits War Memorial Stadium for a Northwest Conference battle Friday night, September 22. Warm, dry weather is the forecast.

The potent Pirates improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the NWC with a 56-0 blowout win over Spencerville last Friday. 

The Pirates have outscored their opponents 231-28 this season. Bluffton leads the NWC in points scored per game (46.2), and is also first in least points allowed per contest (5.4.).

The Pirates have shut out their last three opponents after beating Pandora-Gilboa 28-21 in week two, their only close game this season thus far.

The Bulldogs have been outscored by their foes, 190-125. Ada is 1-1 at home this season, while Bluffton is 2-0 on the road.

Village of Ada awarded $750K in CDBG neighborhood revitalization funds

The State of Ohio has announced that more than $13.8 million in grants will be awarded to complete critical infrastructure and neighborhood improvement projects–including a $750K CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) neighborhood revitalization grant to the Village of Ada.

At the Tuesday, September 19 council meeting, the Ada mayor, council members and administrator discussed the result. Administrator Jamie Hall said that the response and help received in the application development process was “tremendous” including public meetings, surveys and other feedback between October 2022 and May 2023.
