Recipients should budget food stamps to cover February
Posted by Icon K on Sunday, January 20, 2019
Food stamp recipients are scheduled to receive February disbursements before the end of this month and will have to budget their allotment as the federal program is not currently funded because of the partial government shutdown.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits for February will be disbursed between Jan. 16 and 20, according to information from Hardin County Job and Family Services. This means that you may have two months’ worth of food dollars on your account this month. The United States Department of Agriculture, the federal agency which oversees SNAP benefits, is closed as part of the partial federal government shutdown.
A new class starts in March; registration deadline Feb. 23

In light of potentially heavy snowfall this weekend, Ada residents are reminded that all vehicles parked on an established Snow Route must remove their vehicles from the street for snow plows. Once your street has been cleared, you can again park on the street.
Please note that plows will still need room to maneuver should you find yourself too close to another vehicle that has failed to comply.
According to Ada Ordinance, snowfall in excess of 4 inches constitutes a snow emergency requiring the removal of vehicles from snow routes. Snow routes are indicated by street signs on or near your street block.
