2020 Hardin Leadership class enrollment underway

28th annual class open for recruits through March 5

Participants for the 28th annual Hardin Leadership class, a program designed for the development of informed and effective community leaders, are being recruited now until March 5.

Nine monthly sessions will focus on the knowledge/skills required by today's community leader, such as public speaking, conflict management, and marketing.

This year’s program will be offered in morning sessions from March through November.

Tuition is $325 per person.

Employers and organizations are encouraged to sponsor participants. Ten percent of the tuition fee is recommended to be paid by each participant as an indication of commitment to the program.

Your invitation to participate in Sheriff Everhart's Citizens Academy

Sessions held on Thursdays from March 5 to April 16

Applications are being accepted for the 2019 Citizens Sheriff’s Academy offered by the Hardin County Sheriff and Ada native Keith Everhart.

The academy takes place from 6 to 8:30 p.m., on consecutive Thursdays from March 5 to April 16, at the sheriff’s office, 1025 S. Main St., Kenton.

The academy offers participants with a working knowledge of the sheriff’s office. It covers various aspects of the sheriff’s responsibilities via classroom discussion and hands-on participation.

2019 zoning permits total nearly $727,631

Ada’s 2019 zoning permits totaled an estimated value of $727,631, according to the summary presented to Ada council on Feb. 4 by Michael Harnishfeger, zoning inspector.

Last year saw 41 permits issued, down from 56 in 2018. The report reveals two new single-family homes constructed and several residential additions in 2019.

“The greatest requests for permits dealt with fences and sheds,” said Harnishfeger. “And, in 2019 we had progress on the First United Methodist Church parking lot with the demolition of two neighborhood house.”
