14-year-old Ada girl reported missing by police

On April 23 the Ada Police Department took a report of a missing juvenile. 

The incident occurred in Ada.  According to the report, Elizabeth Saracson was spending the night at her sister's on Friday April 22.  Elizabeth was last seen around 10 p.m. that night at her sister’s house. 

Elizabeth is 14 years old and is a white female with brown hair slightly below her shoulders and brown eyes. Elizabeth has a mole on her neck. 

Elizabeth is 5-8 and 140 pounds.  She was last seen wearing blue jeans, tennis shoes, and a Bowling Green t-shirt.  She is also carrying a blue duffel bag with the name “Lizzy” in sparkle letters.

Bluffton Circle K camera shows robbery in process - Tuesday AM

Bluffton police filed this report this morning to the Icon concerning a robbery at Circle K on Commerce Lane.

Police encourage anyone with information to contact police department at 419-358-2961.​

On Tuesday, April 5, at approximately 4:48 a.m., the Circle K store located on Commerce Lane in Bluffton, Hancock County, was robbed by a white male with a firearm. 

Ada fire, EMS, police have meth lab focus

Earlier this week the Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department, EMS, and police participating in a training sessions with Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The focus was on methamphetamine lab awareness and the potential hazards faced by first responders. (From the fire department Facebook)

School opens Thursday AM; police continue investigation; extra officers on duty at school

Michael Harnishfeger, Ada police chief provided The Icon with the following update involving today's evacuation of the Ada school:

During dismissal on February 24, 2016, the Ada High School office received a suspicious phone call. 

Law enforcement was notified immediately and all buildings on campus were evacuated. 

Officers from the Ada Police Department as well as deputies from the Hardin County Sherriff’s office were dispatched to the school.

They were assisted by the Allen County Bomb squad. All buildings on campus were cleared and determined to be safe. 

Ada police clears school building - no physical threats found

At 7:44 p.m. this evening the Ada officials sent the follow email update on the telephone bomb threat taken earlier in the afternoon:

With the special assistance of bomb sniffing dogs, Ada Police Department has cleared our buildings and has found no physical threats.

Ada police will have extra patrols during school hours. The incident remains under investigation.

 

Suspicious call to school has officials on alert - school area blocked off

Ada schools sent the follow alert message at 4:16 p.m. today:

"At the time of dismissal we received a suspicious call that forced us to evacuate the building. All students were safely evacuated from campus."

The Icon understands that the following officials are on the scene:
• Allen County Bomb Squad
• Hardin County Sheriff
• Ada Police Department
• On stand by is Ada-Liberty Township fire and EMS

In a second school alert the message  stated that law enfocement agencies are contacted and that all school activities tonight are cancelled.
