Ridgeway house fire impacts three adults

The American Red Cross North Central Ohio Chapter responded to a fire on County Road 200 near Ridgeway early Friday morning. 

The Red Cross provided assistance for the immediate needs of three adults affected, such as temporary lodging, food and clothing.

“We’re deeply saddened for those who were impacted by this fire,” said Todd James, Executive Director, North Central Ohio Chapter.

“As we continue to help them, we urge everyone to take steps to minimize the risk of a fire occurring in their home.”

Marijuana, hash, meth confiscated in Kenton arrest

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, a deputy from the Hardin Co. Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on US Rt 68 north of Kenton for a traffic violation.

Upon making contact with the male occupant/driver from Michigan the deputy observed signs of illegal narcotics in the vehicle.

The deputy conducted a roadside investigation and discovered over 30 pounds of marijuana along with hash, meth amphetamines and numerous edible marijuana products.

The driver was arrested and the vehicle impounded for further investigation. The driver was incarcerated at the Multi County Correctional Center in Marion and the investigation continues.

Hardin County Crime Task Force arrest 3 on drug offenses

Keith Everhart, Hardin County Sheriff, issued the following statement concerning the arrest of three men on drug-related offenses in Hardin County on Nov. 14:

On November 14, acting on information developed during an ongoing investigation into illegal activity, the Hardin County Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence at 4679 County Road 94, Washington Township.

Task Force agents seized quantities of marijuana, cocaine, firearms, drug paraphernalia and over $14,000 in cash.

Three male residents were arrested on drug-related offenses. Charges are pending on two other occupants of the home.
