God Knows About Sacrifice

By Lynne Scott, Alger, Ohio. Published on This I Believe on NPR.

At age twenty-five, I said, “I do” to the vow of “in sickness and in health.” I remember looking at my soon-to-be-husband, Darren, and thinking, “no problem.” He had been a national champion wrestler in college and still was in prime athletic form. When he carried me over the threshold on our honeymoon, I had no idea that in twelve years, I’d be carrying him on my back up the stairs of our home.

How has rain affected farmers and flower growers this year?

Here's the latest comment from Mark Badertscher, agricultural and natural resources educator for Hardin County.

That's Logan Williams performing on the trampoline

By Monty Siekerman
Flippin' over the 4th.

That's Logan Williams, 17, doing a series of backward and forward flips on a trampoline in his backyard on West North Avenue while brother Case, 7, waits his turn.

Truth is, the 4th is a rather quiet day in Ada. There's grilling outdoors, some family gatherings, and, when the sun sets, you'll hear fireworks long into the night shot from backyards.

Ada has no extravagant fireworks display lighting up the sky in a multitude of colors. And, there is no lake for sailing, kayaking, or waterskiing.
