Ada Boy Scout Troop 124 recently held a court of honor to recognize those who have achieved their goals in the past few months.

They met at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Ada. Korwin Kurtz, Senior Patrol Leader, served as the Master of Ceremony. Bugler, Theo Hardesty called Assembly on his bugle then began the flag ceremony with a Call to Colors. 

Patrol Leader, James Lee, led the troop in the Pledge of Allegiance with Donald Waters guiding them through the Boy Scout Oath.

Senior Citizens: Do you like to play Euchre, Trash, board games? Like to talk? Join us at Ada Senior Citizens on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at noon in the Community Health Professionals building.

In the mood to plant?

Laurie Laird, owner of New Leaf Garden Center, says the saying goes: plant peas on St. Patrick's Day (March 17) and potatoes on Good Friday (April 3). "I don't see that happening this year since the ground is so frozen." It was 6 degrees on March 6...more like mid-Janurary.

• A Lupus support group will meet at 7 pm on Monday, March 16, at Crossroads Church of God on SR 309 west of Ada. For more information call 440-717-0183.

• The Compassionate Friends will meet at 7 pm on Tuesday, March 17, at First Assembly of God Church at SR 81 and I-75. This is a support group for parents who have lost a child. The organization is for parents grieving the death of a child, whether the death was recent or not.

Ohio Northern University presents the 38th annual Law Review Symposium, “New Solutions to Old Problems: A Practical Look At the Rebirth of Rehabilitation in the Criminal Justice System” in the Pettit College of Law’s Celebrezze Moot Court Room on Friday, March 27.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. This symposium is open to the public. The cost for the event is $85 for individual attorneys; $75 for federal/state/local government attorneys; $65 for ONU College of Law alumni; $45 for ONU College of Law alumni who are Lehr Society members; $35 for non-attorney registrants; and $25 for non-ONU students.
