Joel W. Hauenstein, age 36, died on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 4:00 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. 

He was born on October 6, 1981 in Coldwater, Michigan to Wynn L. and Colene S. (Wiseley) Hauenstein who survive in Ada. 

Linda L. Vermillion, age 73, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. at her residence in Ada. 

She was born on April 6, 1944 in Hardin County, Ohio to Otas W. and Annabelle M.(Smith) Reese, who preceded her in death. 

On June 1, 1963, she married Thomas J. Vermillion and he survives in Ada. 

Linda retired as a cook from Ada Schools. 

She formerly worked as a dispatcher for the Ada Police Department and as a cook at the Ada Kentucky Fried Chicken. 

She was a 1962 graduate of McGuffey High School and then received her beautician's license from Fredrick's Beauty College in Lima. 

Dorothy T. Kirby, age 89, died on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 8:40 a.m. at Springview Manor, Lima. 

She was born on February 4, 1928 in Middlesboro, KY to Fred and Bessie (Gray) Kirby who preceded her in death. 

Dorothy retired as an office cleaner at Bank One Cook Tower. 

She attended the Baptist Church. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Green. 

Private family services will be held at Preston Cemetery, Alger, OH.

Ronald Houston Leonard, age 87, died on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima. 

He was born on March 14, 1930 in Galion, Ohio to the late William and Gertrude (Armentrout) Leonard. 

Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949 and he retired after serving for 20 years. 

Besides bases in the U.S., he was also stationed in Japan, Germany, Korea and Iceland. 

Ronald was stationed in Kobe, Japan where he met his wife Nancy K. Ikoma and they married on June 1, 1951, she survives in Ada. 

Bureta Collins, age 93, died on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 6:21 p.m. at the Wyngate in Lima, Ohio. 

She was born on May 1, 1924 in Carver, Kentucky to Warren and Cordelia (Caudill) Bailey who preceded her in death. 

On February 16, 1946 Bureta married Curnie Collins who preceded her in death on May 30, 1993. 

Bureta retired from North Electric Company of Kenton in 1976 after working for ten years as a wire assembly line worker. 

She was a member of the Ada Full Gospel Church and attended the Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God. 

Was legal secretary for Charles VanDyne Law Office for over 50 years

Marilyn Green, 83, died on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at 1:34 p.m. at Community Hospital South Emergency Room in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was born on Sept. 7, 1934, in Logan County, Ohio to Howard G. and Doris M. (Cronkleton) Elliott who preceded her in death.

She was formerly married to Max Green and he survives in Bellefontaine.

Marilyn worked as a legal secretary for Charles VanDyne Law Office in Ada for over 50 years.

She formerly was a co-owner and ran the Ada Dairy Queen that later became Green Dairy in Ada from 1957-1977.

In 1972 she became a co-owner of the Ada Dairy.
