Ada Pool networking for next summer

The Ada Municipal Pool will be open through August 13 and managers are in planning mode for 2023:

"We are already starting to gather ideas for next season. If you, or someone you know, are interested in potentially applying to the pool for next summer please fill out the attached Google Form. Please give us as much information about yourself as you can.

"Applications will come out sometime next year towards the end of winter-beginning of spring, but this will help us to get an idea of what positions people are interested in."

Cashiers, lifeguards and managers are part of the pool team.

Hydrant flushing during August

The Village of Ada has the following announcement for water customers and users:

August is hydrant flushing month here in the Village. Beginning August 8, 2022, we will be performing our routine hydrant flushing.

During this process there may be a slight discoloration of the water caused by sediment or rust being flushed from the water mains. Households experiencing this should not be alarmed. The water will clear up once it is run for a short time.

Should you experience rusty colored water, we suggest you run the cold water from the faucet nearest to the water meter to flush the service.

2021 Water Quality Report for Village of Ada

The Village of Ada has released the 2021 Water Quality Report on the village website. This annual report provides information about the sources of Ada drinking water, protective strategies for these three wells, and potential sources of contamination.

The report also includes testing results with detected contaminants listed. In 2021 none of the contaminants were in violation of EPA safe drinking water standards.

The following excerpts provide information from the 5-page document:

Tuesday evening swim now 8-10 p.m.; pool rules reminder

The Ada Municipal Pool announced the following on June 16:

"We would like to start this post off with a big thank you! A thank you to those who support our pool whether that be throughout each day or by simply passing along the word to a friend. We have had an overwhelming number of patrons on Tuesday's midnight swim and in order to keep our staff and patrons safe we have decided to suspend midnight swim.

"We will have a nightly swim each Tuesday from 8:00-10:00 p.m. We will closely monitor the number of patrons entering in order to ensure we have an adequate number of lifeguards on duty.

You're invited to support downtown flower baskets

Seasonal beautification of Ada's business district includes eye-catching flower baskets that hang on light poles below village banners.

The project is spearheaded by the Village of Ada, which waters, cleans, trims, and fertilizes the plantings. The baskets are planted by a local small business, Stratton Greenhouses, 9915 Lincoln Hwy.
