ONU’s College of Engineering presents its Distinguished Alumni Awards

Ohio Northern University’s T.J. Smull College of Engineering honored Dr. O. Glenn Smith and Keng Siang-Lim with Distinguished Alumni Awards on Feb. 25.
        
At ONU, Smith was a member of Sigma Xi, Alpha Sigma Phi, Tau Beta Pi and Kappa Kappa Psi. He played varsity baseball, basketball and golf and was elected to ONU’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.

Ada's number one fans

Here are the number one Ada High School basketball fans, the bball cheerleaders. They are, Seniors: Trista Douce, Alisa Wireman, Cosette Brodeur, Kendra Paul, Schyler Waugh. Sophomores: Haley Jenkins, Kaylee Spangler. Freshmen: Sydney Hartford, Kaylee Newton, Shelby Hall, Billie Sherman, Makayla Nestor. Mascot: Colton Long (1st grader at Ada).

Going beyond customer service 101 is focus of next CEDC Entrepreneurship workshop

ONU's Community Economic Development Center will hold its next entrepreneurship workshop on Friday, March 26 starting at 5:30 p.m.  The event will take place at The Forum at James F. Dicke Hall.

Marc Woodard, BSBA '88, wlll speak on 'The "Norm Factor": Going Beyond Customer Service 101.  Mr. Woodard is the territory manager for Lifetouch National School Studios.

All CEDC entrepreneurship workshops are free and open to the public.

Oz - The Great and Powerful (PG) starts Thursday at Ada Theatre

Oz - The Great and Powerful (PG) will be screened at the Ada Theatre starting Thursday, March 7 and running through Thursday, March 21.

Both 2D and 3D shows will be available, depending on the showtime. 

Showtimes:

Thursday - 9:30 p.m. (3D)

Friday and Saturday - 7 p.m. (2D) and 9:30 p.m. (3D)

Saturday and Sunday matinees - 1:30 p.m. (2D) and 4 p.m. (3D)

Daily - 7 p.m.

1:30 p.m. matinees (2D) - $3 

7 p.m. (2D) - $4

Men's tennis tops Wabash (Ind.) 5-4

The Ohio Northern men's tennis team picked up a 5-4 victory over Wabash (Ind.) on Wednesday afternoon.

The Polar Bears improve to 2-3 on the season, while the Little Giants fall to 7-6.

ONU won two of the three doubles matches to grab a 2-1 lead.

Juniors Josh Saunders and Do Thai won 9-7 at No. 2 doubles and freshman John Mostowy and sophomore Sam Prewitt posted a 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Mostowy won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and senior Joey Frank was victorious by a 6-3, 7-5 score at No 1 singles.

Angela Polachek updates Ada Kiwanis members on several upcoming village projects

President-Elect Heather Cox called the 20th meeting (March 5) of the 2012–2013 Kiwanis Year to order at noon at the New China Restaurant, downtown, Ada.

The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress.
