Ada swim team 2-0 on the season; faces Westside on Monday

The Ada Alligator swim team moved to 2-0 on the young season after beating Shawnee 496 to 268 on June 13.

In the opening meet of the season Ada defeated Sherwood Sharks on June 10. On Monday Ada travels to the defending Western Ohio Aquatic League champions Westside.

Ada beat Westside in a dual meet last year, but Westwood prevailed in the league championships.

Commenting on the Shawnee meet, John Willamowski, Jr., Ada's coach said, "I was really proud of the way our team stepped up and remained focused. We have been working very hard this year and our team is coming along nicely."

OHSAA okays 2013 football divisions; Ada is in Division VI

The Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors met Thursday morning in Columbus for its regularly scheduled June meeting, which marks the final board meeting of the 2012-13 school year. The following are highlights from the meeting. The complete set of meeting minutes will be posted later at OHSAA.org.

Donnelly Hamilton named Ohio Northern University’s executive assistant to the president

Ann Donnelly Hamilton has been named Ohio Northern University’s executive assistant to the president. Donnelly Hamilton replaces Bill Robinson, who retires later this year.

“I am honored to be appointed to this position,” said Donnelly Hamilton, who served as ONU’s director of alumni relations for the past decade. “I look forward to assisting President DiBiasio in my new capacity and working to maintain the great reputation of Ohio Northern University.”

Midnight show of Man of Steel tonight at Ada Theatre

Starting tonight at midnight tonight and running through Thursday, June 20 is Man of Steel (PG-13).

Showtimes will be:

Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. (2D) and 9:40 p.m. (3D).

Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:15 p.m. (2D) and 4 p.m. (3D).

Daily at 7 p.m. (2D).

Tickets are $4 for 2D shows and $6 for 3D shows.

 

Gene Autry Days comes to Hardin County Fairgrounds June 22-23

Now in its 20th year, Gene Autry Days take place Saturday and Sunday, June 22 and 23, at the Hardin County Fairgrounds, Kenton.

Non-stop entertainment will be provided throughout the two days. The schedule includes: Les Gilliam; Call of the West, with Jeanne Cahill and Jerome Campbell; John Buttram; Paul Belanger; Miss Devon & the Outlaw, Devon Dawson and Outlaw Jessie Del; and Kristyn Harris.
