Update from Hardin County Hootenannies

The Hardin Co Hootenannies’ president, Laura Spradlin, opened the last meeting and asked Preston Brien to lead the American flag pledge and Megan Williams to lead the 4-H pledge.  Secretary, Miranda Holbrook asked each member to say their favorite animal for the roll call and we had 11 members present.

Old business:
Just before the meeting, club members planted a Blue Spruce for Ag Credit as a thank you for allowing us to meet in their nice meeting room.  Branch Manager, Ranae Sherman thanked the group for the nice way of showing their gratitude.

Ada Public Library summer reading kick-off features Touch-a-Truck and book sale

The Ada Public Library will host its Summer Reading Kick-off on Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. according to Amanda Bennett, library director.

In addition to being able to sign up the whole family (all ages) for summer reading the day will feature many activities, including "Touch-a-Truck", where  little ones can explore an Ada Fire truck, a police car, an ambulance and a tractor.

There will also be a 4H sponsored petting zoo, face painting and a huge used book sale with over 1000 titles available.

All of this is free and everyone is welcome.

Connie Lehman was a private music teacher in Ada

Connie S. Lehman, age 60, died at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio.

She was born on November 22, 1952, in Kenton, Ohio, to Carl D. and F. Jeanne (Vermillion) Hepner, who preceded her in death. Her step-mother, Carol Hepner survives in Ada. On June 14, 1975, she married Thomas F. Lehman and he survives in Ada, Ohio.

Learn to knit or crochet this summer at the Ada Public Library

The Ada Public Library next knitting and crochet club meeting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 5. The Ada Knit 'n Crochet Club is open to anyone both learning how to knit or already an expert, according to Amanda Bennett, library director.  

It will provide a regular space for yarn crafters work on their knit or crochet projects together with others. Light snacks will be provided. All are welcome.

Regular Wednesday meetings are scheduled thereafter at the same time for June 19, July 3, July 17, July 31, and August 14.  Check the Icon calendar for reminders.
