Ailey II dancers on Freed Center state Oct. 27-28

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present  “Ailey II” on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. A master class will be offered in the Biggs Theatre on Monday, Oct 28, at 10 a.m. to anyone who purchased a ticket. 

Ailey II is universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding emerging choreographers. Founded in 1974, the company embodies Alvin Ailey’s pioneering mission to establish an extended cultural community that provides dance performances, training and community programs for all people.

Think I'll go down to King Lumber and get some nails

Icon viewers will have to be senior citizens to remember this scene in Ada. It's the King Lumber Co., which later became Steinman Brothers Lumber. The photo was taken in 1953.

King Lumber handled lumber supplies, mill work, builders' supplies, paint and hardware. The owner was W.E. King.

President  Heather Cox called the weekly meet (October 15th) of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order at 12:00 noon at McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University.

The membership anniversary of Bryan Marshall (October 21, 1986) was noted.

Carol Slane Florist reminds viewers to order Thanksgiving centerpieces today

Holiday Craft and Food Fest Nov. 2

Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main St., Ada, will host a Holiday Craft and Food Fest, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2.

The event is a holiday craft and food fest, according to Deb Curlis of Community Health Professionals."Shop for holiday crafts, food from your favorite farm market vendors and more," she said.

The fest is open to the public and a festive lunch is available.

Vince Koza's SportsTalk live in Ada Thursday

Vince Koza's live radio show will be broadcast from downtown Ada on Thursday.

Koza's show, SportsTalk on 93.1 FM The Fan Sports Radio, will center on the Ada versus Delphos Jefferson football game on Friday at Delphos.

The show will be broadcast from El Campo Mexican Restaurant, 204 N. Main St. from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
