Ohio Northern University named Tree Campus USA for fifth time

Ohio Northern University has been named a Tree Campus USA for the fifth time by the nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation.

Extension office drainage survey sent to some Ada area farmers

Did you receive a drainage survey in the mail from The Ohio State University? If so, have you had a chance to fill it out and send it in?

Randomly selected landowners in Hardin, Van Wert, and Williams Counties were sent a copy of the survey in March. Their names and addresses were taken from county public records. The purpose of the survey is to inform landowners about conservation practices and drainage management policies in order to help them make land management decisions.

Sylvia Harsh, 1952-2014

Sylvia L. Harsh,  62, died on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 4:40 p.m. at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.

She was born February 15, 1952, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Lawrence and Norma Y. (Obenour) Weller and they preceded her in death. She married Neil Alden Harsh and he died in 1977.

Ada Senior Citizens tour Artist Boutique April 9

The Ada Senior Citizens will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9 at The Artist Boutique on Main and gather after the meeting at McDonalds.

Deb Curlis will be our hostess showing the wares and perhaps giving a brief demonstration.

Friday and Saturday dinner features at Mustard Seed Cafe

Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main Street, Bluffton, is open 5-8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings with a full menu. This includes 7 appetizers, 8 main course items, soups, salads and house-baked desserts. 

In addition to the regular menu, the April 4-5 features include:

Entree:  Mahi Mahi Tacos with mango chipotle chutney and coconut rice
Dessert:  Margarita crème crepe cake
