Stars of Arbor Day - Ada third graders

Ada third graders were the first to hear Mayor Dave Retterer proclaim Friday, May 2, 2014, as Arbor Day in the Village of Ada.

During the annual Arbor Day celebration, the Ada third graders proved to be a great audience as the Ada Tree Commission talked to them about trees, planting, dinosaurs and ‘elephant snot’. (If you are not sure what dinosaurs and ‘elephant snot’ have to do with trees, ask a third grader.)

Five Australian visitors toured Ada's Wilson football factory on Monday. The five, Mathew Dunn (in front), and standing from left, Simon Doyle, David Brook, Karen Smith and Jessica Monahan, visited Ada through Rotary International. Click here for more details on their Ada visit.

ONU adds women's lacrosse as varsity sport; names coach

Former Wittenberg head coach Beth Hemminger has been named the first-ever head coach of the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse program.

Hemminger will take over the reigns of Ohio Northern's new program, which will begin varsity play in the spring of 2016.
