"Love in Small Doses," Lynne Scott's latest novel - get an autographed copy on Saturday

Saturday is your chance to have a book purchased and signed by Ada author Lynne Scott.

Her newest novel has a signing party from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Cask Room, 127 S. Main St., in the former location of Gardner Drug Store.

Her latest novel, “Love in Small Doses,” is the story of a small town pharmacist and the changes she and the town experience when a large retailer moves in for competition.

Copies of Scott’s earlier novels will also be available for purchase at Saturday’s signing.

Here's the latest from the Ada Kiwanis Club

The Ada Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday Nov. 4, at noon at McIntosh Center, O.N.U., Ada. President John Berg called the meeting to order at noon.

Ada Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger, was present with an official search warrant for the missing Kiwanis gavel. The warrant was given to President Berg with the promise that the police department would continue the investigation into the gavel’s disappearance.

The birthday of member Bill Fuller (November 4th) was noted in song.
The Kiwanis Anniversary of Carol Friesner (November 5, 2013) was noted.

Lewis Family McDonald’s prepares its annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner - you may volunteer to help

As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, Lewis Family McDonald’s begins its preparations for their annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner. The dinner, started in 1989 by the Chester Carey Family, is now in its tenth year. The dinner will be held on Thursday, November 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lima Veteran’s Memorial Civic and Convention Center.

“We recognize the importance of having a place for people to eat and fellowship on a special day like Thanksgiving,” says local McDonald’s owner, Jerry Lewis. “We continue to be amazed with the support of our community.”

ONU school of pharmacy's professional commitment ceremony Nov. 15

The Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy will conduct its annual Professional Commitment Ceremony in the ONU Sports Center on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10:30 a.m.

Ronda Lehman, chief operating officer of St. Rita’s Professional Services, will be the guest speaker at the event, which marks the transition from the students’ first three years of ONU pharmacy education to their final three professional years.
