Family Storytime at the Ada Public Library took a new twist today as young participants enjoyed playing with the library's parachute. This photo is from the library's facebook.

Hardin Democrats getting ready for county fair

Plans for the Hardin County Fair Booth were finalized at the August meeting of the Democratic Central and Executive Committees.

Members will meet at 10 am. Monday, Sept. 7 to prepare the booth for the opening of the fair the next day. You do not have to be member of the Central or Executive Committees to assist with this effort.

Sign-up sheets for working a three-hour shift during the week will be available. If you believe in the Principles of the Democratic Party and want to volunteer, please come on that Monday or whenever you come to the fair the first time.

Ohio Northern University welcomes incoming freshmen and new students to the 2015-16 academic year with welcome weekend activities.

Events included move-in, playfair, Ada civic engagement day and the ONU class photo.

University professor awarded grant from Raptor Motorsports

Dr. Edward Potkanowicz, Ohio Northern University associate professor of exercise physiology, has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Raptor Motorsports LLC and $15,000 of in-kind funding from Inde Motorsports Ranch to support research in human thermoregulation/sports performance and driver science.

The funds were used to cover the cost of equipment, travel and facility rental for a weeklong field research trip to Willcox, Ariz. Potkanowicz was accompanied by Dan Colvin, a senior exercise physiology major from Tipp City.

Polar Bear football hosting coaches, staff of Polish club team - Krakow Kings

Four coaches and an athletic trainer from the Krakow Football Kings club team in Krakow, Poland, are visiting Ohio Northern for a two-week stay where they are embedded with the ONU football team during training camp.

Head coach Dawid Ostrega, assistant coaches Lukasz Niedzielski, Zygmunt Lodzinski and Piotr Jarocki and athletic trainer Anna Kostera are staying on the ONU campus and are participating in team meetings, strategy sessions and are attanding all practices dueing their stay.
