Here's details on Parent-Teacher Conferences Nov. 23-24

Ada Exempted Village School District will hold Parent-Teacher Conferences for students in grades K-12 on Monday, Nov. 23 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Students will only attend school on Monday, Nov. 23. There will not be school on Nov. 24 or 25. Thanksgiving break is Nov. 26 and 27.

Halloween - one more time

Let's have one more Halloween photo. This one is too good to not use, as we parked it in our "not yet posted" folder. The students at Ready Set, Grow Preschool were able to wear their Halloween costumes to school shortly after Oct. 31 and here some of them are during playtime.

Matching donors with recipients

Tom and Phyllis Gossel of Ada meet with Devin Bumgarner, a second-year pharmacy student from Ashville.

The occasion: Dinner in McIntosh ballroom for those who gave money to establish scholarships, matching up the donors with this year's recipients. About 120 people attended. For more about the Gossels, click here.

Three-day boat safety conference at ONU

Boat safety was the topic of a three-day fall conference held at ONU last weekend.

David Hart (left) and Carl Clair, both of Ft. Wayne, sit at the registration desk full of raffle items.

Members and families of the U.S. Power Squadron Sail and Power Boating association district met on campus for the first time for their fall conference; however, the group has held its winter meeting here for many years.

Stuffed toy polar bears heading to youth in Lima Memorial Hospital

Children in the hospital will be getting a stuffed toy, thanks to those participating in a Reindeer Run on Sunday, Nov. 15. Registration begins at 2 p.m. at King Horn Center for the 5K and 1 mile run.

The stuffed toys will be polar bears, of course. They will be given to children at Lima Memorial Hospital to make their stay there a little more "bearable."

The event is sponsored by Mortar Board and Kappa Alpha Theta.

29th annual Christmas around the Square Nov. 14 in Kenton

The 29th annual Christmas Around the Square Craft Fair takes place in Kenton on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hardin County Historic Courthouse in downtown Kenton.

Sponsored by the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance, the Craft Fair features three floors filled with arts, crafts, and home party dealers. The Kenton Top 20 will perform holiday music at 9:30 a.m. Homemade food is provided by the Hardin County Homemakers.
