Jim Boedicker in Viva Maria on Jan. 9

Jim Boedicker, local guitarist and vocalist, performs at Viva Maria Pizza and Pasta on Saturday night. He is on the restaurant's entertainment schedule on a regular basis.

He will next perform at Viva Maria's from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9. Jim has been playing the guitar for 50 years. He and Mike Wright teamed together to entertain many times in Ada and the surrounding area. Gospel is their forte.

Strong, severe thunderstorms headed this way tonight

Scattered damaging wind gusts of 50-60 mph 
An AEP Weather Alert: Unseasonably warm, moist air will arrive in AEP’s East Utilities today ahead of an advancing cold front.

This will most likely result in a broken line of strong-severe thunderstorms crossing the utilities this evening into tonight. The winds aloft will be exceptionally strong…making it probable that some of the thunderstorms will mix down damaging wind gusts.

"Guideposts" features NYC transplants Amy and Mark's move to Ada

When you move from the hustle and bustle of New York City to living in small town Ada, that's a story.

And Amy Eddings, who did just that with her husband, Mark Hilan, described the adventure of their move in the December issue of "Guideposts" magazine.
"Guideposts" has a readership of 5 million.

"The magazine connects with readers through true stories of hope, inspiration, and personal triumph.

The 5-page article tells why they moved from The Big Apple to 508 N. Main. In the story, the home is described as "gorgeous pistachio-colored century-old Queen Anne Victorian."

There's more to this photo than meets the eye. Just keep reading. The new $1 million medical facility is progressing rapidly. Groundbreaking was held just a little over a month ago. On Thursday, cranes were moving trusses in place for the St. Rita's facility. Warmer and dryer weather has permitted work to go forward at a rapid pace. Keith Everhart is one happy guy this Christmas season...here's why

They make movies out of plots lke this.

Hardin County Sheriff and Ada native Keith Everhart is one happy guy this Christmas season.

On the sheriff’s office Facebook page is a story about an anonymous donor who gave more than $3,000 to the sheriff’s office.

The purpose: To distribute cash in $100 bills to persons in the community who were deserving and in need of financial help for the holidays.

And so, sheriff deputies went to work. After meeting with his staff, deputies compiled a list persons who deserved some of the cash.

Ada Kiwanis, Ada Rotary and Lima Kiwanis meet in Ada

Ada Kiwanis held a recent meeting with guides, Ada Rotarians and Lima Kiwanians.

The club annual auction was held with over 50 Christmas-related items awarded to successful bidders.

In keeping with the club’s annual tradition, two area families and two young ladies will be provided assistance with the club’s annual Christmas Benevolence program.

Thirty-one books, ordered by Ada Librarian and club member Amanda Bennett, were distributed to students at Ready-Set-Grow on Dec 17.
