Raabe College of Pharmacy honors three with Distinguished Alumni Awards

Ohio Northern University’s Raabe College of Pharmacy honored three alumni with Distinguished Alumni Awards on Feb. 12. This was the ninth year that Distinguished Alumni Awards were presented by the College of Pharmacy.

Timothy Tracy, a 1983 graduate, Leonard L. “Bud” Lance, a 1970 graduate, and John A. Armitstead, a 1979 graduate, were recognized for their outstanding career accomplishments and their contributions to ONU.

Ada CIC will hear about university nursing activities in the community

Ada's Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) will get an update on the Ohio Northern University nursing program during its noon meeting on Wednesday in McIntosh Center.

Tina Liebrecht, assistant professor of nursing, will provide details on nursing students' activities in Ada.

The CIC is currently in its 2016 membership phase. Annual membership dues are $25. The organization meets monthly on the third Wednesday of each month. 

It's subcommittees are Industrial, Water Resource Plan, Community and Commercial. The 2016 CIC president is Jamie Hall. Other offers are Jim Meyer, vice president, Eileen Peterman, secretary and Angela Polachek, treasurer.

Invisi, a 4-month-old Lab, with owner Matthew Sutton who is training Invisi to be a service dog. All types of retrievers love water. Cold water doesn't bother them since they have two coats of fur.

Bob McCurdy sworn in as Ada Public Library board member

Bob McCurdy receives the oath of office Monday evening as a Ada Public Libary board member, becoming the seventh member of the board.

He was named to the position by the school board, which has one member from the school on the library board. Bob, whose term expires in 2019, replaces Michael Hertig. Bob was appointed co-chair of the board's building and grounds/development and planning committee.

Halftime entertainment

Area youngsters performed a dance routine during halftime of the ONU women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon. Thirty-five kids, some as young as three and a half years old, attended an all-day clinic put on by the Northern Stars dance team. The day ended with the group's performance in front of the basketball crowd. (From ONU sports Facebook)
