Sautter, Willeke named all-NWC

Two Ada High School boys' basketball players were named to all-Northwest Conference teams, announced earlier this week.

The players are:
• Brayden Sautter, senior
• Blake Willeke, senior

Ada's regular season in the NWC  was 2-6 and the team was 12-10 overall. For a list of all NWC players honored open the attachment to this story.

Rich Bensman named ONU men's basketball coach following Kevin Byrne's resignation

Rich Bensman has been named the head men's basketball coach at Ohio Northern University, effective immediately.

He replaces Kevin Byrne, who resigned on Wednesday as head coach after four seasons as the helm.

Bensman has served as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern for the previous four years.

"We are excited to begin a new chapter of Ohio Northern men's basketball under the guidance of Rich Bensman," ONU director of athletics Tom Simmons said. "Rich has worked extremely hard as an assistant coach the past four seasons and we look forward to having him in the leadership role."

50 teen librarians hold sessions in Ada on Friday

Ada Public Library will host about 50 teen librarians at a Teen Think Tank conference at the United Methodist Church on Friday.

The event is a time for librarians to attend sessions where they can share ideas on unique and engaging programs to use in their libraries.

The conference, begun a few years ago, is held twice a year, and is hosted by different public libraries each time. 

Liberty National Bank offers Welcome Home Grant

Liberty National Bank is participating in the Welcome Home Program, according to Ronald L. Zimmerly, Jr., bank CEO and president.

The program is a grant sponsored by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati. It is designed to assist eligible homeowners with down payment or closing costs when purchasing or buying a home.

The Welcome Home Program provides up to $5,000 in grant money for eligible homeowners and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Welcome Home funds will be available starting March 1, and will end when the money is no longer available. 

Hardin Pheasants Forever make presentation to Sharp Shooters 4-H Club

Monday evening Hardin County Pheasants Forever #212 presented Hardin County Sharp Shooters 4-H Club with a laser engraved Remington shotgun.

Jason Feming presented the rifle to the club. Darrin Verhoff of Ottawa Ordinance provided the laser engraving.
