It's Bluffton's turn for a fall festival - this Saturday

Last weekend it was Ada's festival day.

This Saturday, Sept. 27, it's Bluffton's turn.

The Bluffton community’s 11th annual Fall Festival, with many family-oriented activities, takes place throughout the community on Saturday, Sept. 27, according to Daren Lee of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, who coordinates the festival.

Dancing with the Ada Stars at The Freed Center Oct. 4

Dancing with the Ada Stars, takes place Saturday, Oct. 4, at The Freed Center for the Performing Arts, Ada.

If you enjoy the television show "Dancing with the Stars" then plan for a fun evening watching  Ada community members compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy.

Special guest are the ONU Dance Company. Showtime is at 8:30 p.m. 

Andromeda Galaxy star party Friday at ONU Observatory

Interested in star gazing? Ohio Northern University's Observatory will hold a star party celebrating galaxies -- in particular, The Andromeda Galaxy -- on Friday, Sept 19 between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. 

According to Dr. John Pinkney, the Andromeda Galaxy is the closest large spiral galaxy to our own Milky Way. (It's "only" 2 million light years away!) The Astronomy Club will be present to point out this galaxy in the sky. The Andromeda Galaxy is just visible to the naked eye on a dark night, if you strain. Follow that up with views through binoculars and telescopes for the full Andromeda experience.

Brit Rowe, ONU professor, has "design" art on exhibit in Lima

Object and Graphic Design, a survey of contemporary graphic arts in Northwest Ohio, will open at ArtSpace with a reception for the artists, their families and friends, and supporters of ArtSpace on Friday, September 19, from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Lincoln Highway chapter meets Sept. 16

The September meeting of the Western Ohio Chapter of the Lincoln Highway Association will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the Van Wert County Historical Museum, 602 N. Washington St., Van Wert.

After dinner at 6 p.m., a history of the museum will be presented and guests will tour the collection.  Suggested donation for the dinner is $6.00. The public is invited.

Healing oils of the Bible class offered at ReStore Sept. 29

A class titled “Healing Oils of the Bible,” will take place at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 29, at ReStore, 210 N. Main St., Ada, according to Connie Guyton.

The class is free but there is charge for a Zyto Compass Scan that will take place during the evening, if participants wish to take the scan.

There will be two stations set up for the scan during this class. That scan charge is $10. The scan demonstrates oils your body needs, according to sponsors of the class.
