Wellness clinic at ReStore moved to March 7

ReStore Community Center, Main Street, Ada, will host a free wellness clinic from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 7, featuring Dr. Katie Benson. The clinic will focus on chair exercises and nutrition. (This program was originally set for Feb. 21.)

Dr. Benson has been serving Marysville and the surrounding communities since 2008.  She and her husband, Josh, are natives of Hardin and Union counties, respectively.

Dr. Benson is a graduate of Ridgemont High School.

Having graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Findlay with a bachelor’s degree in Science, Dr. Benson received her doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic, also graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Delta Sigma Phi Polar Plunge Saturday

Want to take a dip on Saturday?

Join the brothers of Delta Sigma Phi in their 4th annual Polar Plunge.

The event will be located on the east side of Polar Bear Pond in the middle of Fraternity Circle from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21.

This event is to help raise money in support of the American Red Cross. Every brother of Delta Sigma Phi will jump in the water in support.

If you're brave enough to jump in then it will cost you some warmth and a small fee of $10. If you are brave enough to support then you will also receive a free t-shirt specific to this years event. If you do not want to jump in then you can purchase a shirt for $13.

International Play Festival on Freed Center stage this weekend

Aneera Ansari, the costume shop manager and resident designer at Ohio Northern University, prepares for the upcoming International Play Festival.

A new resident of Ada, Aneera says the play featured this year takes place in Cuba in 2008.

She and her students are making costumes for thespians that reflect current Cuban attire and some costumes to represent a throwback time of an earlier day in Cuba.

The play has been translated into English. It is directed by a man from Mexico City.

Ohio Supreme Court candidate speaks at Democrat's Presidents' Day lunch in Kenton

Judge John P. O'Donnell, 2016 Democratic candidate for Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, will be the keynote speaker for the Hardin County Democrats Presidents' Day Luncheon Saturday, Feb. 28, at noon at the Walnut Grove First United Methodist Church north of Kenton on State Route 68.

Judge O'Donnell was first elected to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas in 2002. He was reelected in 2006 and 2012. The Cuyahoga County Court is one of Ohio's busiest courts. He has presided over scores of jury trials in felony criminal cases and civil lawsuits.

Ada schools in session February 24

Ada schools will be in session for a full day on February 24. A teacher in-service had originally been planned on the 24th.

ONU students to perform free scans Feb. 17
