Very impressive checks

From McDonald's to USV, $1,000; and to Ada $700

By Monty Siekerman
Officials from Lewis Family McDonald's presented a check for $1,000 to Upper Scioto Valley Schools for the effort of school employees and local residents who had supper at Ada McDonald's on Oct. 16. Ada, too, received a check for $700 for their efforts on Oct. 9.

The schools vied for which could get the most customers to Ada McDonald's during a three hour period on different Mondays.

Ada went first, a mob of people showed up and made purchases. In fact, it was the largest turnout ever for a McTeacher's Night from among the 17 Lewis Family McDonald's. But then came USV, and they topped Ada to win an extra $150.

All you do is toss the dart and see where it lands

It's an Ada Flea Market holiday program

Dan McCrory of Ada Flea Market, 111 N. Main, has a unique idea to promote his business during the holiday season, an idea that can save customers money on their purchases.

He is offering up to 25 percent off on purchases of $20 or more on Thursdays only.

To receive the discount, a customer will throw one dart at the dartboard and whatever percentage number the dart sticks on, that will be the discount. Hit the bullseye and gain another 5 percent off for a total of 25 percent.
