Acne and post-acne scarring can be troublesome for teens and adults of all ages regardless of gender. Active acne can be influenced by certain medical conditions or as a result of individual processes. These may include excess oil production, bacteria and/or hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells. It may also be influenced by excess activity of androgen hormones that are produced by both males and females.
EasternWoods Outpatient Center, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS), recently updated its PET/CT scan technology to improve patient experience. This diagnostic system will allow providers to give more accurate diagnoses with 3D imaging, enhanced imaging with wider fields of view and improved lesion detectability. Additionally, patients will receive less radiation and complete scans in a faster amount of time.
“EasternWoods Outpatient Center and BVHS are committed to obtaining advanced technology to provide the highest quality and comprehensive care to patients,” said Jill Jaynes, BVHS service line director of cardiovascular and imaging services.

In a female-dominated industry, men can also benefit from a variety of services offered in medical spas to help them look and feel better. Self-esteem affects men just as much as women; it has a direct correlation to work productivity as well as the ability to find enjoyment in life-enriching experiences. With an ever-growing and advancing aesthetic industry, many services are able to be completely customized to fit any individual’s needs. Most services leave clients with a natural and refreshed look with minimally or completely non-invasive methods.

The National Headache Foundation reports that 1 in 5 U.S. children ages 5 to 17 are prone to headaches. Fifteen percent of those who are prone have headaches labeled as tension and five percent are diagnosed as migraine.
