Sign-up underway for holiday memorial wreath-making

Bridge Hospice Bereavement Services is offering a “Holiday Memorial Wreath-making” event at two locations for those who have lost a loved one. 

Guests will create and display a wreath in memory of loved ones this holiday season. The entire family is welcome to participate in this activity.

This event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, from noon to 7 p.m. at Riverbend Park’s Brugeman Lodge in Findlay, and on Friday, Nov. 22, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Bowling Green Community Center, classroom B located at 1245 W/ Newton Road, Bowling Green. Wreath-making sessions will be scheduled in half-hour increments and preregistration is required.

FROM BLUFFTON ICON - Blanchard Valley Health System has announced that it is the first Ohio-based health care facility to join a clinic collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Care Network, of Rochester, Minnesota.

The Mayo relationship extends to medical professionals at the  Bluffton Hospital.

In making the announcement on Oct. 10, Scott Malaney, BVHS president and CEO, said, “This is a big day for us.”

Back pain, whether in the neck or lower back, has become ubiquitous. The National Institute of Health estimate that 80 percent of all Americans have suffered from back pain at some point in their lives, and the number of adults whose life is markedly affected continues to grow.

Many will be familiar with the feelings of a stiff, sore back after a wrong twist, a bad bend or an intensive workout. These pains are usually musculoskeletal in origin and will heal over time with rest, ice/heat and over-the-counter medications.

The Science of Urology & You

Presentation in Live and Learn hospital series

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will host “The Science of Urology & You,” the final installment of the 2019 “Live and Learn” series. 

This community presentation will focus on urological treatments and robotic surgery options for urinary incontinence and other health issues. 

Two sessions will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium of Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay, as well as that evening from 7 - 8 p.m. at the Carey Medical & Diagnostic Center, 930 Sheriden Dr., Carey. Both events will feature Joshua Ebel, MD, from Blanchard Valley Urology Associates.
