Apollo Career Center Adult Education is excited to announce the launch of our newly approved Apollo School of Cosmetology. The 15-month evening program will run Monday through Thursday from 3:30-10:00 pm, and will equip students with extensive training in cosmetology, setting them up to successfully become a licensed cosmetologist.

ELIDA – The Ada High School boys tennis team lost 5-0 at Elida in a battle of Bulldogs Monday, April 21.

Ada is now 2-2 this season. 

Bulldog senior southpaw Nathan Williams lost to Ben Osmon 6-1, 6-0 in his first singles match.

Jaden Neuman defeated Bulldog junior Justin Bowden 6-0, 6-0 at second singles.   

Eben Jackson swept Ada sophomore Brandon Prater 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.

Staley and Altenbach beat Ada duo Luke Archer and Lawson Klingler 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles. 

The Ada tandem of Mohamad Khalil and Sam Crawford lost to Layman and Dunahay at second doubles 6-0, 6-0.

ADA – The Ada High School baseball team lost 16-2 to visiting Blanchard Valley Conference foe Leipsic on Monday evening, April 21.

The Vikings broke open a 1-0 game with a monster 14-run third inning that paved their way to victory. 

The Bulldogs plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth to avoid the shutout, but not the 10-run mercy rule.

The Bulldogs dropped to 3-8 overall and 2-3 in the BVC with the defeat, while Leipsic improved to 8-4 and 5-1 in BVC play after the win.

Leipsic smacked five doubles among their eight hits, and the Vikings drew nine walks. Ada slapped six hits and coaxed two walks.

The Village of Ada is offering extended hours on April 29 to purchase pool passes at a discounted rate. The Village office on the 2nd floor, 115 W. Buckeye Ave will be open until 7:00 p.m. for discounted pool pass purchases only. Questions? Call Michele Chambers at 419-634-4045 ext. 212.

ADA – The Ada High School softball team scored nine first inning runs and rolled to a 17-0 romp over Blanchard Valley Conference rival Leipsic on a windswept Monday evening, April 21.

“We hit the heck out of the ball,” said Bulldog head coach Jeff Bassitt. “That is the best we have hit all year, and the best start we have had this season.”

Ada improved to 12-2 overall and 4-2 in the BVC with the five-inning blowout victory. Leipsic fell to 4-4 and 2-2 in BVC play after the lopsided defeat.
