Love chocolate?

Then you might want to enter, or just show up at the library on Saturday AM

Love chocolate? Who doesn't.

Ada Public Library's 6th annual chococlate bake-off should appeal to you. It's at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at the library.

The rules to enter are simple and there's just one rule: bake or make something that showcases chocolate as the main ingredient and bring it to the library on Saturday by 10:45 a.m.

The winner will be decided by popular choice. Call or stop by the library to sign-up or just show up to enjoy a free dessert and help choose a bake-off winner.

Melia Santillanez and Elsie Allen won first place in last year’s bake-off. They entered a Texas sheet cake.

Not yet completed, but so far, it's looks great

Ada Public Library reopens after inside renovations

By Monty Siekerman
A new, enlarged circulation desk has been installed at the Ada Public Library.

With an addition/renovation and convenient parking, the library can expect more patrons bring books to the front desk for checkout.

The desk is lower, too, making it more convenient for youngsters. Purple, yellow, blue walls make the library a bright, happy place.

The library closed for 10 days while workers installed new ceiling, carpeting, and built the desk. It reopened Monday.

The library's open!

After nearly two weeks of indoor remodeling

The Ada Public Library is now open after being closed for inside construction since Jan. 10, according to Rhett Grant, library director.

"The addition is not due to be completed until Feb. 28," he said. "The parking lot is wonderful, but not our's until the construction crew turns it over to us. Come check out our new ceilings, front desk, carpet and other changes.

During the closure fines did not occur on patron cards and all patron holds have been placed on suspension during the closure.

The first official event held following the reopening is the Ada Historical Society organizing committee meeting 6:30 p.m.
