Ada boys' fall 2-0 against Miller City

Here's Caleb Garmon (1) in soccer action between Ada and Miller City on Aug. 20. The Wildcats won 2-0. Ada returns to action on Wednesday in the battle of Hardin County as they take travel to Kenton.

Sean Holtzberger is in the second photo. 

Atreyu Hunter, Sean Holtzberger and Tate Anspach are in the third photo.

Ready, Set Grow Preschool open house Wednesday

Ready, Set, Grow Preschool, 4171 State Route 235, Ada, will hold an open house Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and again from 6 to 7 p.m. 

The preschool provide The Ada Icon with the following details about this year's classes:

If you are attending in the fall, please plan to come that day to fill out all forms, bring school supplies, and pay your September tuition.

Apollo parent-student orientation Aug. 23

In preparation for the 2012-13 school year, parents and students are encouraged to attend Apollo Career Center's Parent-Student Orientation, Thursday, Aug. 23, during the times of 1-4 p.m. or from 5:30-8 p.m.

Parents and students may visit labs, meet with teachers, pay for fees, books and tools, and tour the building.

Apollo will have staggered start dates again this year. The first day of school for juniors is Monday, Aug. 27, and first day for seniors is Tuesday, Aug. 28.  For more information, please call 419.998.2908.

Melissa S. Manns, 33, of Belle Center, died at 7:35 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, in her home.

She was born Jan. 27, 1979, in Kenton to Larry and Penny (Caudill) Rowe of Alger.
