Children (birth to Pre-K) and parents, grandparents, caregivers, or friends can participate in OSU Extension: Hardin’s Little Sparks: Goo Crew summer activities this summer.

 Lil Sparks: Goo Crew  offers adults and youth a variety of activities to encourage social-emotional, cognitive, physical and language development. 

The program encourages intergenerational learning and a place for adults to learn more about child development. 

The group meets every first and third Wednesday of the month from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Spark Lab in the Hardin County Extension Office unless noted. 

The Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes met on May 20 in the Hardin Northern Ag Building.  

Recreation for the night was ran by Heidi Trachsel. The meeting was led by president Megan Miller.  Pledge of Allegiance was led by Peyton Heacock and the 4-H Pledge by Gabe Trachsel. Roll call was whether or not you brought food for the food drive.  There were 54 total present, 41 members, 7 advisors, and 6 guests.

Quality Insurance was held at this meeting for members taking livestock to the fair, led by Jack McBride.  The members taking still projects met with Bob McBride and talked about their progress.

Polaw Paws visit on May 30 at noon

Polar Paws dogs will be at the library at noon, on Thursday, May 30. These pups are service dogs in training, through 4 Paws for Ability at Ohio Northern University.

Children are encouraged to pet and read to these puppies. The library is located 100 W. Wagner, St., Alger.

The library's June book group will discuss "Fer-de-lance" by Res Stout on Tuesday, June 4 at 7 p.m. at the library. The adult book club meets on the first Tuesday of the month, and is open to the public. Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.
