Sophomore Megan Lubinski (Milford/Brighton) helped Ohio Northern go 2-1 this past week and for her efforts was named Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week. The Polar Bears toppled Oberlin and Mount Union and fell to Kenyon.
Lubinski won a total of four events, while taking second in three other races. She swam a leg of the victorious 200-yard medley relay, and also added first-place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley, the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle.
Northern competes against Baldwin Wallace Friday before wrapping up the regular season at Case Western Reserve the following weekend.
The Ohio Northern men's basketball team used a strong start to the second half en route to topping Baldwin Wallace 81-74 on Wednesday evening inside the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears have now won back-to-back Ohio Athletic Conference games, improving to 6-8 overall and 2-5 in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets fall to 8-6 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
"Our guys played with a lot of energy and intensity on the both ends of the floor," 4th-year head coach Rich Bensman said. "We've played hard and been really focused the past couple games."
Freshman Landen Long (Mason) poured in a career-high 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting.

Hardin County Crime Task Force announced results of a narcotics investigation in Kenton, according to Sheriff Keith Everhart.
The task force news release follows:
On January 15, the Hardin County Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at 41 Champion Court in Kenton, after an investigation to the selling of narcotics from this location.
As a result of the search warrant, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were seized from the residence.
One male was arrested for trafficking in drugs; another male and female were arrestedf for oustanding warrants.
