Men's tennis notches sixth consecutive victory with 7-2 win over Wooster

The Ohio Northern men's tennis team won its sixth straight match by a 7-2 score over nonconference foe Wooster on Thursday afternoon at the University Courts.

The Polar Bears are now 8-4 on the season, while the Fighting Scots fall to 5-10.

In doubles action, the tandem of senior Joey Frank and junior Do Thai dominated for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles.

Freshman John Mostowy and junior Josh Saunders followed with a 8-3 win at the No. 2 doubles position.

Sophomore Sam Prewitt and junior Blake Troller finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.

Letizia wins twice to lead women's tennis to 6-3 win over Otterbein

Freshman Meghan Letizia won two matches to lead the Ohio Northern women's tennis team to a 6-3 victory in a key early season OAC match over Otterbein on Thursday afternoon at the Richard A. Sanders Tennis Center.

The win moves the Polar Bears to 14-4 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in the OAC. The Cardinals fall to 9-4, 1-1.

Letizia teamed with junior Carly Olmstead to post a 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

She also scored a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles for Northern.

The doubles tandem of freshman Rachael Miller and junior Michelle Tuma won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.

Belliveau, Obarski led Baseball in double header split at St. Francis (Ind.)

The Ohio Northern baseball team split a double header against NAIA foe St. Francis (Ind.) on Wednesday afternoon at Cougar Field.

The Polar Bears now stand at 9-10 on the season, while the Cougars are 8-11.

ONU captured Game 1 by a 3-2 score in eight innings, but fell in the second game 6-3.

In Game 1, ONU broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning on an RBI single by sophomore Dan Belliveau.

The Cougars jumped on the board first in the third inning on a RBI single.

The Polar Bears responded with two runs in the fourth to take the lead.

Freshman Nick Eltzroth led off the inning with a single.

ONU to recognize academic achievement at Honors Day

 

Ohio Northern University celebrates its annual Honors Day program on Saturday, April 27, from 8:15 a.m. until 5 p.m.       

This year’s Honors Day continues the rich tradition of ONU’s colleges and departments recognizing students and faculty members for scholarly achievement and service to the University community. More than 40 undergraduate academic departments and honor societies will present awards and induct new members.

Dr. Todd Gillfillan presents "Getting More Out Of Life," April 8 in Kenton

“Getting More Out of Life” will be held Monday, April 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church sanctuary, 234 N. Main St., Kenton.

Dr. Todd Gillfillan, of Ada, a 2012 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and certified in Applied Kinesiology will be the speaker for the evening. 

He will answer questions about chiropractic in a clear and concise manner.  He will share how chiropractic and the proper vitamins and supplements help individuals to get more out of life.
