Here's another in our continuing series of "who am I" - Ada residents. Here are some clues. Watch the Icon early next week for the answer.

First United Methodist Women serving lunch at Harvest & Herb Fest; quilt drawing at 1:30 p.m.

The Ada First United Methodist Women will serve a lunch at the N-Men’s Club from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Harvest and Herb Fest, Saturday, Sept. 21.

The a la carte menu will include chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, beef and chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, salad, brownie, fruit pies, and beverages.

A drawing for the queen-size quilt, designed by Cathy Smalley, “Butterfly Garden,” will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the N-Men’s Club. Tickets will be available for the quilt.  Proceeds from food and ticket sales support missions. 

Colleges Against Cancer Hosts 5K Glow Run Sept. 20 at ONU

Ohio Northern University’s Colleges Against Cancer and Student Planning Committee are hosting a 5K Glow Run on Friday, Sept. 20, at 8 pm. The run will be located at the Green Monster, which is the track surrounding the perimeter of the campus. The race will begin by the mud volleyball courts, east of the football field.

Registration is $15 and includes a T-shirt and glow sticks. The first 15 participants to register will receive extra glow gear. To guarantee a T-shirt, please register by Friday, Sept. 13.

This event is open not only to ONU students and faculty, but also Ada and the surrounding communities. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life.

ONU Campus Ministry to establish new spiritual formation program

The Ohio Northern University Campus Ministry is establishing “Emerge,” a new spiritual formation program, after receiving a grant from the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.

David MacDonald, ONU chaplain, will oversee the new program, which will focus on incoming students, helping them make the transition from high school to college while also seeking to help them grow and mature in their faith.
