I just got back from a conference of chaplains (National Association of College and University Chaplains–NACUC), which was a great opportunity for me to meet others in the field, and especially to sit down with more experienced chaplains and talk about experiences of ministry in a campus setting.

NextLabs founder, CEO, presents Spotts Lecture Monday

Keng-Siang Lim, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of NextLabs, will be the featured speaker for the Ohio Northern University College of Engineering’s Spotts Lecture in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m.

His speech, “Globalize and Innovate: Making of the 2020 Era Engineer,” is free and open to the public.

As CEO of NextLabs, Lim is responsible for the company’s vision, leadership, strategic direction and successful growth.

NextLabs is the leading provider of policy-driven information, risk management (IRM) software for large enterprises.

Gregory Martin was an Upper Scioto Valley graduate

Gregory Martin, 46, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died the morning of Feb. 15, 2013, at Park Ridge Apartments in Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was born May 10, 1966, in Lima to Richard and Joy Helton Martin. His father preceded him in death, and his mother survives in Ada.

Mr. Martin was a maintenance worker at Park Ridge Apartments, Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a 1984 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School, McGuffey.

Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance annual meeting in Ada Feb. 28

The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance annual meeting will take place in Ada this year.

The event is Thursday, Feb. 28, at Ohio Northern University's McIntosh Center. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the presentation of awards at 6 p.m. A full dinner buffet will start at 6:30 p.m. and the annual meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Awards that will be presented include the 2012 Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, and Community Service.
