Baumgartner wins 2 races, Chrissobolis 1

NORTH ROBINSON – The Ada High School swim teams competed well at the 11-team North Central Ohio Swim League championship meet hosted by Colonel Crawford on January 18, finishing fourth at the annual event.
Perennial power Colonel Crawford swept to the boys, girls and combined team titles. Ada finished a solid fourth in all three standings.
The CC girls have won nine straight league championships. The Eagle boys have won three of the last five NCOSL crowns.
Bulldog senior ace Lily Baumgarner won the girls 100-yard backstroke in a league-record time, breaking her own meet mark by .32. She touched first by a whopping 6.07 seconds.
Baumgartner also took first in the girls 100 butterfly by 4.13 over the second-place finisher. She scored 32 individual points in the meet.
Ada sophomore Tim Chrissobolis touched first in the boys 100 breaststroke. He ended up fourth in the 200 individual medley to score 27 points.
Junior Lydia Demascio finished third in the girls 200 individual medley. She also ended up sixth in the 100 backstroke to tally 21 points.
Sophomore Jacob Szippl came in fourth in both the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke events to score 22 points.
Freshman Alivia Montgomery touched sixth in the girls 100 freestyle. She also was seventh in the 50 free to tally 16 points.
Junior Alyssa Nau placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke in her first meet coming off concussion protocol.
The Bulldog girls scored 128 points, and the Ada boys tallied 99 to finish with a total of 227. CC won the combined NCOSL championship with 656 points, followed by Upper Sandusky (462) and Bluffton (393).
CC won the girls team crown with 357 points, while Bluffton was second with 214.
The Eagles also captured the boys title with 299 points to edge out the Rams of US (284) by 15 points.
Ada is slated to swim against Bluffton at the Putnam County YMCA Thursday, January 23 at 6 p.m. They then swim at Upper Sandusky Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m.
Ada also has a season-ending dual meet scheduled at Kenton in the Hardin County YMCA Tuesday, Jan. 28.
