Ada Police are investigating Rite Aid prescription medication theft

Updated 2:30 p.m. June 25

The Ada Police Department is in the process of investigating a robbery that took place at Rite Aid,  610 S. Main St. Ada, OH.  

On June 24, 2024 at 8:54 p.m. Ada officers were dispatched to Rite Aid in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. The suspects were described as three black males wearing “Covid-19” style masks in all black clothing. No weapons were presented or seen. There were no reported injuries.  

Last week to register for Ada youth fall soccer

Ada youth soccer organizers are reminding families that this is the last week for soccer registration before late fees start. The last day to register is June 30.

Chronic Wasting Disease in Deer Herd workshop, August 8

The Ohio State University Extension and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife are hosting free evening workshops about chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Ohio’s wild deer herd. 

Each workshop will cover the following topics: 

  • What is Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD)?; 
  • Navigating Disease Surveillance Area Regulations; 
  • Carcass Handling Restrictions & Best Management Practices; 
  • Where and How to Test my Deer for CWD?; and 
  • How does CWD impact Deer Management?

Studio 419 and Hardin County 4-H offer free line dancing class, June 26

Studio 419 is hosting a free line dancing class on Wednesday, June 26 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. The class is being led by Hardin County 4-H.

Retirement open house for OSU Extension educator Mark Badertscher

Mark Badertscher, the Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator for OSU Extension in Hardin County, recently announced that he is retiring at the end of June. Badertscher spent over 11 years as the Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator and has another 26 years of experience teaching agriculture and serving as an FFA Advisor.

After a combined 37 years in public education, Mark wants to thank his colleagues and his community for their support. He also thanks them for supporting his events and projects over the years. Mark’s final day with OSU Extension is June 30. The University will be hiring another educator to fill the position.
