By Tim Thomas

The Hardin County Community Foundation received a strong financial report at its quarterly meeting Tuesday in Kenton.

Trustees learned that the total portfolio has climbed to $13,238,180, which is up 16.72% year to date.

Also at the meeting, the board approved a series of policies. Those include records retention, whistleblower, conflict of interest and computer, device and internet usage policy.

Trustees accepted the Kenton Athletic Boosters Cardiac Testing Fund. Around $50,000 has been donated for the testing to be invested with the foundation. Income generated by the fund will be used for cardiac testing of Kenton athletes and extracurricular participants every other year. The program eventually may be extended to all schools in the county.

In addition, trustees agreed to a cyber insurance policy at a cost of $1,200 annually for $1 million in protection.
