FINDLAY __ The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team lost 9-1 at traditional power Liberty-Benton in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association road game Thursday evening, September 19.
Ada fell to 7-4 overall and 0-3 in the NCOSA standings with the defeat.
The Eagles improved to 10-1 overall after the victory, and the Eagles are tied for first place in the NCOSA standings with Van Buren at 3-0.
L-B jumped to a 3-0 lead after scoring at the 27, 24 and 19-minute marks.
Senior Logan Jolliff netted the lone Ada goal in the first half with 12 minutes left to cut the lead to 3-1.
The Eagles scored again seven minutes before intermission to lead 4-1 at halftime, then tallied five goals after intermission to win going away.
In half two, L-B scored at the 34, 25, 21, 16 and eight-minute marks. Their seventh goal came on a penalty kick.
“Liberty-Benton is really good,” said Bulldog first-year head coach Aaron Acheson. “They have a great team. They have great speed, great technique on the ball, and I was impressed with their speed of play.
“We will learn,” he added. “We will be better for our next game.”

Ada looks to get back on the winning track when they visit Temple Christian (2-5-2) Monday, Sept. 23 in a non-league match at 5 p.m.
