Bulldog battle: Ada tennis falls to Celina

ADA __ The Ada High School boys tennis team lost 3-1 to visiting Celina in a battle of Bulldog netters Saturday, April 20, at the War Memorial Park courts.
The Ada netters fell to 0-4 with the defeat. Celina improved to 1-4 with the win.
Ada junior southpaw Nathan Williams won at first singles to post the lone purple and gold victory.
“I am proud of Nathan for battling through to get his match won,” said Ada head coach Morgan Bass.
Williams captured the first set 6-4 over junior Jack Zhang, then won a 22-20 points tiebreaker.
Freshman Brandon Prater lost at second singles to senior Ryan Chapman.
Sophomore Mohamad Khalil fell at third singles to senior Brady Sapp 6-2, 6-2.
Senior Jesse Okuly and sophomore Sam Crawford lost in straight sets at first doubles to Aaron Doseck and Josh Shoen.
The Bulldog netters visit local rival Bluffton Monday, April 22. The Pirates beat Celina 4-1 on April 18.
