November 7 General Election serves up competitive Ada races, state issues on abortion and marijuana

The November 7 general election will present the following ballot items to voters in the Ada School district, the Village of Ada and Liberty Township.There are multiple candidates for mayor and school board seats, while two council incumbents are running unopposed. Ohio Issues 1 and 2 regarding an abortion and reproductive rights amendment and the legalization of marajuana are expected to interest voters.

Voters in Ada North and South precincts vote at Ada Community Health Professionals, 1200 S Main St. Voters in the Liberty Twp. precinct vote at The Centre on Central, 111 Central Avenue.

Polling hours are 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

Tax Levy (Abbrevated description)

Proposed Tax Levy  (Renewal) for the purpose of current expenses. Rate not  exceeding 1 mill for each $1 of  taxable value, which amounts to $34 for each $100,000 of the county  auditor's appraised value.

Hardin County Proposed Tax Levy  (Renewal) for the Hardin County Board of  Developmental Disabilities. Rate: Not exceeding 4 mills for each $1 of taxable value which amounts to $96 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s appraised value.

Tax Levy (Abbrevated description)

Hardin County Proposed Tax Levy  (Renewal) for the Hardin County OSU Extension. Rate: Not exceeding .35 mill for each $1 of taxable value which amounts to $11 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s appraised value.

 

ALLEN, AUGLAIZE AND HARDIN COUNTIES

Tax Levy (Abbrevated description)

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of  the Mental Health & Recovery  Services Board of Allen, Auglaize  and Hardin Counties for the purpose  of current operating expenses. Rate: not exceeding 1 mill for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $28 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s appraised value.

Issue 1 (Abbrevated description)

A Self-Executing Amendment Relating to Abortion and Other Reproductive Decisions Proposed Constitutional Amendment Proposed by Initiative Petition To enact Section 22 of Article I of the Constitution of the State of Ohio. A majority yes vote is necessary for the amendment to pass.

To Commercialize, Regulate, Legalize, and Tax the Adult Use of Cannabis Proposed Law Proposed by Initiative Petition To enact Chapter 3780 of the Ohio Revised Code A majority yes vote is necessary for the law to pass.
