CRIDERSVILLE--The visiting Ada High School boys basketball team lost to Perry 56-43 in a non-conference contest Saturday night, December 10.
The Bulldogs fall to 3-2 with their second road defeat in as many nights.
The Commodores improved to 3-3 with the home win.
"We never led and were outplayed throughout," said second-year Ada head coach Vince Halliday.
Bulldog senior Jayden Bankston and classmate Jaden Leal led Ada with eight points apiece. Senior Ethan Murphy scored seven points, while seniors Grant Preston and Carter Conley each added six points.
Ada trailed 14-10 after the first period, but fell behind 26-15 at intermission after a five-point second stanza. The Bulldogs were down 46-27 after the third quarter.
Ada won the final quarter, 16-10.
"We had too many turnovers (24) and not enough made shots," said Halliday. "We shot nine for 18 from the foul line and zero for 10 from three. You're not winning a basketball game with stats like that," he added.
Commodore Kameron Moore led all scorers with 22 points. Amir Simpson added 15 points.
The purple and gold sank 17 shots from the field, all two-point goals. Ada converted nine of 18 shots from the charity stripe (50 percent).
Perry canned 20 field goals. Fifteen of their baskets came inside the arc, while they also connected on five three-point goals. The host Commodores converted 11 of 15 attempts at the foul line (73 percent).
Ada also lost the junior varsity contest 31-19 to drop the reserve record to 1-4.
