The visiting Ada girls basketball team fell behind early at local rival Cory-Rawson, then rallied before losing 49-45 in a non-league battle Tuesday night.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-2 with the defeat, while C-R improved to 2-1 with the close victory.
"The main thing that hurt us is turnovers and we didn't consistently execute offensively, especially when we needed to," noted first-year head coach Zack Ricker.
"We were in foul trouble again and we just essentially made too many mistakes," he added.
Ada junior guard Olivia Burkhart poured in a career-high 21 points to lead all scorers. She netted 13 markers in the second half.
Bulldog senior guard Courtney Sumner contributed 14 points. But the rest of the team combined to score 10 points.
C-R led 10-3 after the first period and 23-15 at halftime. Ada inched within 36-31 as Sumner tallied seven points in the third period.
Burkhart tossed in nine fourth quarter points, but Ada came up just short.
