AHS boys soccer wins behind Williams

Bulldog Nathan Williams scored two goals in the first nine minutes and the host Ada High School boys soccer team made them stand up in a 2-0 win over Lima Central Catholic Monday night, October 10, under the lights at War Memorial Park Stadium.
The Bulldogs improved to 6-6-4 following the non-conference victory. LCC is 2-13.
Williams netted his first goal from about 16 yards out by drilling a shot into the lower left corner of the net at the 37:14 mark.
Bulldog goalkeeper Colton Long made a nice save at 36 minutes.
A hard shot by Bulldog Logan Jolliff banged off the left post at 35:23. Ada had another good shot on goal stopped at the 33:22 point.
Williams then left-footed a shot from straight on out front about 10 yards away into the lower right portion of the goal at the 31:33 juncture.
The Bulldogs (4-1-3 home) host winless Marion Harding (0-13) Thursday night, Oct. 13 to end the regular season.
Ada plays at Van Buren (5-5-4) in sectional first round play Wednesday evening, October 19. The Bulldogs and Black Knights played to a 1-1 tie at VB October 6.
