RAWSON--The Ada High School varsity volleyball team finished a strong third at the eight-team Cory-Rawson Invitational competition Saturday, September 17.
The Lady Bulldog season record improved to 9-5 after winning two of their three matches at Cory.
In the first round, Ada beat North Baltimore 25-20, 25-22.
- Junior setter Autumn Andreasen passed out 14 assists.
- Sophomore Tessa Griffith knocked down five kills.
- Senior Emilee Huffer knocked down three kills.
- Freshman Anna Conley each knocked down three kills.
- Sophomore Lily Baumgartner served three aces and came up with five digs.
- Junior Daicy Robinson came up with three blocks.
- Senior libero Courtney Sumner mustered 10 digs.
- Sophomore Jenna Bassitt also came up with five digs.
Ada then lost to second seed Van Buren in the semifinals 25-15, 25-18.
- Andreasen compiled eight assists and made five blocks.
- Robinson hammered four kills, while Sumner had five digs and one ace.
- Bassitt again mustered five digs.
- Alyssa Madison added one dig.
- Baumgartner came up with three blocks.
In the third-place match, Ada swept Holgate 25-21, 25-13.
- Griffith paced the team with six kills and two aces.
- Baumgartner also hammered six kills.
- Sumner came up with 24 digs and dealt a pair of aces.
- Andreasen doled out 16 assists and added one block.
- Huffer also made one block.
The Bulldog JV went 2-1 at Van Buren to run their record to 10-3.
Ada (1-2 NWC) plays at league rival Bluffton (8-2, 1-0 NWC) Tuesday, September 20.
