That time of year

It's that time of year. Farmers get restless about mid-May. The early warm spell this spring enabled most farmers to just a jump on spring field work. Here's a typical rural Ada scene north of town on the east side of State Route 235.

ONU softball team gets at-large Division III tourney bid

The No. 24-ranked Ohio Northern softball team received an at-large bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Polar Bears (26-11) received the No. 2 seed in the Alma (Mich.) Regional and will face seventh-seeded Penn State-Behrend (26-13) in the first round on Thursday at 4 pm.

Ohio Northern won its fourth consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season title with a 14-3 league record and finished runner-up at the OAC Tournament in Ada Friday and Saturday.

This also marks the fourth consecutive NCAA Tournamernt appearance for Ohio Northern.

Riley Creek Baptist VBS June 10-13

Riley Creek Baptist Church is offering Vacation Bible School, Sunday to Wednesday, June 10 -13 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Michael Milks receives Cardinal health Generations Rx Champions Award

Michael Milks, of Ada, is the 2012 recipient of the Cardinal health Generations Rx Champions Award for excellence in community-based prescription drug abuse prevention.

This award recognizes a pharmacist for his work in combating prescription drug abuse. The award honors a pharmacist who has demonstrated outstanding commitment within the pharmacy community to raise awareness of prescription drug abuse.

June baseball camp for junior high students

Ada High School baseball coach Campbell will have a youth baseball camp for anyone in grades 7th and 8th Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4 to 6. There are forms in the high school office for any 7th or 8th grader who would like to attend the camp.
