Ada girl's golfers finish fourth at sectional

The Ada High School girl’s golf team finished itsseason by finishing 4th at the sectional tournament on Sept. 25.

Zoe Laird led the team with a 103. Kenzie added a 108, Quinn shot a 111 while Suzy and Paige had 130. The team score of 45 to beat the old record by 41 shots.

Lots of events going on now at Ada schools

Here's the latest news from the Ada schools:

LANGUAGE CLUB: There will be a Language Club meeting Thursday, Sept. 27 after school in the French room. We will be electing officers and sharing program ideas for the year. Any high school student in French or Spanish class is welcome. Please see Mrs. Davis or Mrs. Davis if you are interested but unable to attend the first meeting or if you have any questions.

Kellen Decker nominated for Ohio JJ Huddle player of the week

Kellen Decker has been nominated for the Ohio National Guard JJ Huddle Ohio Football Player of the Week. This award is decided by an online vote. Ada Icon viewers may support Kellen and vote. Go to JJHuddle.com Homepage and click on the Player of the Week and Team of the Week graphics. 

Kellen Decker and Co. beat Bluffton 53-29 in record-breaking game

Breaking three records in a single game, Ada running back Kellen Decker was the man of the hour following the Bulldogs' latest outing against conference rival Bluffton - an outing that, for the second time in three weeks, was postponed to Saturday by officials on Friday night after lightning was sighted.

Preparations for holiday lighting at the park underway soon

Imagine this...it is time to start thinking about the holidays. The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce is putting out the word to members to support The Winter Wonderland. 

All interested volunteers can help get things started on Saturday morning, Oct. 6, according to Deb Curlis, chamber president.

This year's project managers are Doug Salyer (Grayfeather), Tom Vermillion and George Gulbis. Starting time is 9 a.m. Meet at the building behind the pool. Each Saturday throughout October and November will be decorating time. Opening night will be Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving at that time.
