Strong second half leads women's basketball to 83-55 victory over Kenyon

Junior Cenzie Yoder scored a game high 19 points as the Ohio Northern women's basketball team used a dominating second half performace to pull away from Kenyon for a 83-55 win Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.

With the win, the Polar Bears are now 2-1 on the season, while the Ladies fall to 2-1.

ONU outscored Kenyon 50-27 in the second half, using multiple runs to expand their lead.
Yoder shot 8-of-9 from the field. In addition, she pulled down eight rebounds and recorded six assists.

Senior Morgan Dumbaugh added 16 points and senior Joanna Snyder chipped in with 13.
Kayla Ernst led the Ladies with 15 points.

Duane Bollenbacher wins Icon football contest week 3

Duane Bollenbacher is the winner of Week 3 of The Icon Football Contest 2. He was declared the winner after Tie-Breaker #1 when he correctly picked Ohio State to win by 4-7 points.

Drew Keriazes named OAC men's Swimmer of the Week

Ohio Northern senior Drew Keriazes was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Nov. 12-18.

Keriazes won four events, leading the Polar Bears (4-0 overall) to a 190-108 victory over Wittenberg Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.

Keriazes swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100 breast in :58.91 and the 200 breast in 2:10.79.

He also was a part of ONU's winning 200 medley and 200 free relay teams, which won in 1:40.02 and 1:27.23, respectively.

BVHS earns Platinum Impact Award

Blanchard Valley Health System has been awarded the American Cancer Society’s Platinum Mission Impact Award. BVHS received this award for the East Central Division of the American Cancer Society (ACS), which includes Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The award was given for BVHS’ outstanding cancer connection, collaboration, prevention and research with the American Cancer Society.

Smoke free toolkits available through the Allen County Health Department

The Creating Healthy Communities project of the Allen County Health Department has a new project initiative for smoke-free housing. 

The Allen County Smoke-Free Housing Project is geared towards tenants and landlords who want to make their housing units smoke free, whether it’s a single dwelling, duplex, six-building condominium complex, or multiple apartment complex.
