OSU-Lima Dean's List announced

The Ohio State University at Lima has announced the fall 2021 Dean’s List, which includes students who have achieved top grades for their work.

Criteria for the dean’s list varies by college. It is usually based on the GPA for that specific term and the number of credit hours taken. Many colleges require a minimum of 12 graded credit hours with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

The following students are listed from the Ada Icon reading area. Students may choose not to have their name released.

Weekend Doctor: Ergonomics

Tired of having a sore back, tight shoulders, tension headaches and fatigue by the end of the work day? Habits formed in our daily activities like staring at the computer, cradling the phone, slouching in a chair and carrying the groceries can develop bad habits and painful body conditions.

These conditions can be helped or prevented by incorporating ergonomic techniques into daily routines and work sites.

Ergonomics is helping to fit a job to the person. That job can be a task at work or at home. Here are some suggestions to help improve posture and ergonomics for your daily tasks.

Bulldog wrestlers face AE, Parkway

The Ada High School wrestling team battled rivals Allen East and Parkway in a meet featuring four teams at Coldwater on Tuesday night, January 18.

The Bulldog grapplers lost to the Mustangs 61-12, and were defeated by Parkway 60-21.

"Wrestling a good team like Allen East requires you to do all the little things right," said Ada head coach Eric Perkins.  "They have some experienced guys who have been very successful in high school wrestling that are going to take advantage of every opportunity you give them."

The two Ada wins vs. powerhouse AE both came by forfeit at 126 lbs. for Rowan West, and at 132 lbs. for Trevor McGue.

Liberty Township 2021 financial reports

Liberty Township, Hardin County has released the following reports for 2021:

Mobile home fire on Lincoln Ave.

The Ada-Liberty Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home fire at 546 East Lincoln Avenue, Lot 5, shortly after 10 a.m. on January 21, 2022.

EMS chief Tom Miller reported that there were no injuries.

Officer John Iten of the Ada Police Department reported that the resident who escaped the fire did not know its cause.

Homes on both sides of the fire were damaged and the residents displaced; assistance was provided by the Red Cross.

Fireside Fridays return to the Inn
