Free movie event hosted by Beatitudes at Ada Theatre

The Beatitudes Community Center is hosting a free family fun film on Saturday, February 11. The event, featuring the film Sing 2, is open to the public.

Snacks will be provided including popcorn, water and a treat bag. Organizers note that parking will be available at Hay's Insurance as well as at The Depot and along Main Street.

Released in 2021, Sing 2 is an animated film with animal characters who have been given three weeks to stage a lavish Las Vegas-style show and to convince the reclusive rock and roller Clay Calloway to be the featured star.

Ohio farmers encouraged to complete 2022 Ag Census

The United States Department of Agriculture is urging farmers to complete the 2022 Census of Agriculture by the February 6 deadline.

Going Nuts: Open House at Litzenberg Woods

FINDLAY--Mast producing trees like walnut and hickory, were important to the
McKinnis family and their neighbors. Not only was the wood used in many of their
structures, the nuts of the black walnut, shagbark hickory, shellbark hickory, and
butternut hickory were used in baking and making ink. Join Mrs. Boylan, a neighbor
of the McKinnis family, in the kitchen as she shares samples of her walnut cookies
and hickory nut bread to all who stop by.

EPA survey for Ada water customers

All Ada residents will be asked to participate in a mandated Ohio Environmental Protection Agency survey. The survey will be included in your next water bill.

The deadline for responses is February 15, 2023.

The Village of Ada has been mandated by Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) to implement a CROSS CONNECTION PROGRAM to comply with current regulations as defined in the Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3745-95-04(C). The purpose of the program is to protect the safety of community public water supplies. A CROSS CONNECTION is any temporary or permanent connection between the Ada public supply and another source. An example would be piping between a public water system and an auxiliary source such as a private well or lawn sprinkler system.

Kimberly Ann Badertscher was an athletic trainer

Kimberly Ann Badertscher, age 44, of Ada, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 1:58 p.m. at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 6, 1978 in Lima, Ohio to Dale L. and Sharon R. (Foust) Badertscher. Her father, Dale preceded her in death and her mother, Sharon survives in Ada.

Kimberly is survived by her sister, Michelle (Eric) Stinehelfer of Amherst. Her three nieces and nephew: Mallory, Caleb, Abigail, and Makenzie who were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Angela Badertscher.

Ada Schools: Weather slows buses after school, JH girls basketball is cancelled

Ada Exempted Village Schools announced at 2:40 p.m.: "Road Conditions have deteriorated throughout today, January 26, with new snow/ice accumulation and blowing/drifting snow.

"Ada EVS school buses may be running late as they use caution in transporting students home.

"Tonight's JH Girls Basketball game vs Arcadia is canceled.

"The JV/Varsity Girls Basketball game tonight vs Crestview is being played as scheduled."
