Matt Gossman was elected a new member of the Ada school board last fall. He was sworn in the first of the year. We asked him to tell us about his background.
How long is your term? Have you previously been on the school board?
It is a 4 year term and this is my first term.
Tell me about your job and educational background.
I work for Marathon Pipe Line out of Lima. I have an associates degree in manufacturing engineering.
Just as hints of warmer temperatures appeared, the first serious snowfall of the season reminded us that Mother Nature is still in league with Old Man Winter.

Marcia E. Vermillion, 82, died on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 at her residence in LaFayette.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1933 in Camden, N.J .to Gerald and Helen (Hawkins) Connor who preceded her in death. On May 25, 1952, she married James L. Vermillion and he died on Aug. 28, 2013.
Marcia was a homemaker and previously worked at the LaFayette Elevator for many years. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at LaFayette Congregational Christian Church. Marcia sang in the Sweet Adelines and a Gospel Trio for many years. She was a graduate of LaFayette-Jackson High School class of 1951. She always enjoyed the annual trip to Mohican with her family.
